This section is always under construction.
I sing. I have been singing for a long time. I will sing just about anything. I love to explore sounds. I love to explore new music. I love to explore old music. I am not shy about playing instruments, too. Especially if I have no idea what I'm doing.
Or a more normal bio:
Dr. Alyssa Anderson, mezzo-soprano, is an award-winning performer and a specialist in chamber music, both as a soloist and as part of small vocal ensembles. Originally from New York's Southern Tier region, she received her BM in Vocal Performance from SUNY Fredonia and her MM and DMA from the University of Minnesota.
Alyssa is keenly interested in the creation, performance, and promotion of contemporary and experimental music. She’s been a key figure in Twin Cities New Music community for twenty years and has premiered new works for voice with many local and national ensembles. Her voice and guitar duo, The Dream Songs Project, has had the privilege of commissioning and premiering many significant new works for voice and guitar since its founding in 2010 and is in Year 3 of a multi-year project to commercially record and release these commissions.
In addition to performing as the vocalist in new music chamber ensembles, Alyssa is also a specialist in early music as both a soloist and ensemble member. She regularly performs with The Mirandola Ensemble, La Grande Bande, and Border CrosSing, and has appeared with numerous other Twin Cities-based early music ensembles. Information on current projects and upcoming performances can be found at AlyssaAnderson.org.
